Kindr is operated by 12 Tables Holdings ("we", "us", "our"). Kindr is an AI-powered family organiser that helps parents manage school events, documents, and calendars. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use the Kindr mobile application and related services.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information: your email address and full name, provided during registration.
• Children's information: children's names, ages, and school names, as provided by you (the parent or guardian).
• Uploaded documents: school newsletters, notices, and other documents you upload for AI processing.
• Calendar events: events created within the app and any calendar data synced from external calendar services.
• Push notification tokens: device tokens used to deliver push notifications to your device.
• Usage and diagnostic data: error reports and performance data collected via Sentry for the purpose of improving app stability.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your information for the following purposes:

• Providing the service: to create and manage your account, store your family's information, and display your calendar.
• AI document processing: uploaded documents are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to extract events, dates, and relevant information. Document content is sent to Anthropic solely for processing and is not used by Anthropic for model training.
• Calendar synchronisation: to sync events with Google Calendar and/or Apple Calendar based on your preferences.
• Push notifications: to send you reminders about upcoming events and important updates.
• Transactional emails: to send account-related emails such as password resets and verification.
• Error monitoring: to identify and fix bugs and improve the reliability of the service.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Kindr:

• Supabase: database hosting, user authentication, and file storage.
• Anthropic (Claude): AI-powered document processing and event extraction.
• Google Calendar API: calendar synchronisation for users who connect their Google Calendar.
• Apple Calendar: calendar synchronisation for users who connect their Apple Calendar.
• Expo: push notification delivery to mobile devices.
• Sentry: error monitoring and crash reporting.
• Brevo: transactional email delivery.
• Railway: server hosting and infrastructure.

Each of these services processes data in accordance with their own privacy policies. We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in Supabase-managed databases with the following security measures:

• Data is encrypted at rest within the database.
• All data in transit is protected via HTTPS/TLS encryption.
• Row Level Security (RLS) is enforced at the database level to ensure users can only access their own data.
• Authentication tokens are securely managed and transmitted.

6. Children's Privacy

Kindr is designed for use by parents and guardians. We do not collect personal information directly from children. Children's names, ages, and school information are provided solely by the parent or guardian who creates the account.

We do not knowingly collect data from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without parental consent, please contact us at [email protected] and we will promptly delete such information.

Our practices are designed to comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar regulations.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, all associated data -- including your profile, children's information, uploaded documents, and calendar events -- will be permanently deleted from our systems within 30 days.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct any inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Delete your account and all associated data.
• Export your data upon request.

9. Cookies

Kindr is a mobile application and does not use browser cookies. Authentication is handled via secure tokens stored on your device.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via an in-app notification. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
